RIP Dusty Hill

Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard of the Texas-based trio issued a statement to Fox News writing: "We are saddened by the news today that our Compadre, Dusty Hill, has passed away in his sleep at home in Houston, TX. We, along with legions of ZZ Top fans around the world, will miss your steadfast presence, your good nature and enduring commitment to providing that monumental bottom to the ‘Top’. We will forever be connected to that ‘Blues Shuffle in C.’"

"You will be missed greatly, amigo," the statement added.

This makes me feel so old! ZZ Top was among some of the first albums I got from Colombia house for a penny back in 1975. To this day I still love their music.

Yup.

I read elsewhere that ZZ Top had the longest run of the same band line-up in popular music. Something like 50 years. RIP Dusty :txflag:

We saw them in May of ‘19 in the Woodlands on their 50th Anniversary Tour.

Cheap Trick & Bad Company were great opening acts, but that l’il ok’ band out of Houston blew us away.
