Need help with Estate NFA items under an LLC
Long ago, I ran a modest firearms business (The Old Cannon Armory -- some of you were great customers!). About 10 years ago, I sold my firearms business to a friend of mine who was thinking about opening his own business. Unfortunately, work and family obligations interfered with his plans and he kept putting off getting his FFL, but he still owned the LLC and the NFA items (suppressors and SBRs) assigned to it. Unfortunately a couple of weeks ago he died unexpectedly from undiagnosed brain cancer. It’s been a shock to us all, especially to his wife. No one knew he was sick. He left behind his wife and three kids - and no will. His wife is in a panic now because she has no idea what to do with these NFA items, or whether she can even be in possession of the items since the LLC was only in his name. Everything right now is tied up in probate, and since he was the breadwinner of the family, she's freaking out a bit about even being able to pay the mortgage/bills because even the modest insurance policy he had is locked up. She’s trying to find advice on what she needs to do to ensure that she can sell these NFA items that are under the LLC or at the very least to be able to legally retain them for now. Has anyone dealt with this before and what are your recommendations? Right now I'm just trying to keep her from having a panic attack and to find her a widow's support group. Things are tough for them right now.
I don't fear guns; I fear voters and politicians that fear guns.

Not a good situation since she was not on the LLC. Maybe this will help some: https://www.atf.gov/firearms/docs/tran ... s/download
