I upgraded the buttstock on my SCAR 17 to an ACR-type, and I ditched the OEM Choate pistol grip stock on my 930 SPX shotgun for a standard Mossberg stock. Both are considerable improvements. The ACR stock is more robust and more slim than the OEM SCAR stock, although it weighs a tiny bit more. The Mossberg stock sacrifices the pistol grip (which did make the snotty a little bit more ergonomic when shooting…like an AR-15), but it made accessing the safety more difficult, it snagged on everything when handling the weapon, and made storage a little more difficult.

Very nice TAM. I agree with you slimming both guns down as far as stocks was a good move. I have done the same on a couple of shotguns and like them without those in the way pistol grips.

I've just never been a fan of shotgun pistol grips. Those look great.
