Big Town Gun Show Dallas

Post by texasag93 »

I went to the Big Town gun show in Dallas today.

They had a sign that said not loaded guns allowed, "EXCEPT FOR CHLs"

I almost lost it (in a goooooood way). I was there 3 months ago and it was posted 30.06.

We are gaining ground.

I went yesterday and the 30.06 sign was on the door. The sign outside was the same one that says INCLUDES CHL's. Are you sure you didn't read it incorrectly?

Just curious, what was the venue for the show?

Big Town Exhibition Hall which is on the site of the old Big Town Mall. I believe it is privately owned by the real estate investment firm Kimco from New York.

The 30.06 sign is on the door as you enter. If the door was open and you came from the south, it may have not been seen. The sign outside says INCLUDES CHL's, not excludes. The previous show had another 30.06 sign inside on an easel, but don't think it was there this time. I unloaded in the car and had them band my empty carry weapon when I went in. The guy banding it wanted to know if my PM9 was for sale. He was wanting to buy one for himself.

EDIT: So I believe if you were carrying 'hot' at the show, you were in violation.

maybe

Post by texasag93 »

You maybe correct.

I was not carrying because my license has been approved but I am still waiting on the post man.

As for not reading it correctly, my 2 year old was throwing a fit, so I thought I read it correctly. It was on my way out that I saw it.

He did great until we had to leave "all of daddy's and Nathan's guns behind."

I do know that the sign is not 30.06 (the one I saw, did not look outside). I should have taken a quick picture with my cell phone.

Yeah, the one outside is a 'sandwich board type' sign and just says No Loaded Guns Allowed (Includes CHL). The 30.06 is posted on one of the glass entry doors. If there is a line they hold the door open and it may not be seen. I really didn't remember if they had the one on the easel inside, since I saw the one on the door.

As for your boy, he has the right attitude. I do the same thing and cry having to leave all of those pretty toys behind!!

Hang in there and your license will be here soon.
