Rifle range?

Post by 135boomer »

Does anyone know of a rifle range around Fort Worth that currently allows FMJ ammo?

Thanks.

It's not gun control that we need, it's soul control!

Yes, the insurance companies think the ball ammo will spark and start a fire, or won't be stopped by the mountain of dirt behind the target. Go figure.

No, the primary issue with FMJ rifle ammo is that "short shots" can be prone to "skip" the berm. And most landowners beyond the berms are not appreciative of being in the landing zone. ;-)

That is what I was told by the rangemaster where I shot pistols on a weekly basis. Also, SPs and HPs will also "skip". Ever seen the size of the hole in a target HP?

Haltom City Rifle & Pistol Club Inc
haltomcityrpc.org

They do I believe, but it's a membership club. Rates weren't bad though...
Nice club. Too far away for me, but I visited on a public 'sight-in' day to check it out.

Otherwise, a hike to APG in Greenville will take care of you.
