PLANO, Texas -- Plano police are investigating the death of a man who allegedly assaulted his wife just blocks away from their home and then forced his way into a neighbor's house around 8 a.m. Sunday.
Police say the trouble started with a disturbance call from the couple's home in the 3600 block of Big Horn Trail.
The two ended up a half mile away from their home in the 3000 block of Bandolino Lane where a witness says Qwame Lombardo, 25, was hitting his wife.
A neighbor went outside with a handgun and ordered Lombardo to stop hitting his wife, according to police.
Lombardo then allegedly entered the homeowner's backyard.
Police said the homeowner went back inside and locked his door but Lombardo allegedly forced open the rear door.
Lombardo's wife attempted to detain him but he went inside anyway. The homeowner told police that Lombardo was out of control and staggering.
He fled through the front door and collapsed in the front yard.
Plano Fire personnel transported Lombardo to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Collin County Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

Did I miss something?
The report states that negihbor went outside with a gun, but never mentions him shooting the crazed husband.
It also states that the coroner is investigating the cause of death.
Sounds drug related to me.
