Gonna teach my daughter to shoot

Post by tboesche »

OK, so I am about 10 years behind the power curve here but..
She is 16. My wife will be out of town for a couple weeks so Rachel and I get to spend lots of time together. I am thinking of taking her to the range and teaching here to shoot my Winchester model 270 .22 pump action. She says she doesn't really want to but she said that about racing autocross too. I told her then that she had to do it at least once so she could learn how to handle the car at speed and learn how a car handles when you are throwing it around. Reluctantly, she went. She had so much fun that she now races with me every event I go to and next year will be driving her Cobalt instead of my Mustang. So I am hoping that it will be the same for shooting. I want to start her out on the .22 rifle and after she is comfortable with it, buy a .22 pistol like the Walther P22 or maybe a Ruger MKIII.
