My renewal date is coming up in a few months (July).
My questions are: I'll be 60 years old this year will I get the senior discount or, will it become effective on my next renewal? How soon should I start the process (renewal class etc?) Would it be better to wait for the packet or get everything done sooner?

Mine is coming up soon too. I have been thinking of asking the same Q's so this one will help a lot of us I think.

Carry 24-7 or guess right.

I will call and check that 60th birthdate this morning, I don't think it will be a problem but we want to be sure, I still feel bad about those folks who paid before September 1st. this year and didn't get the 5 yrs. or Senior discount.
It's usually faster and easier for us to get through to someone there or get a call back.

MoJo,longtooth and anyone else whose 60th birthdate falls on the expiration date of their CHL, if you sign up online and pay by credit card or send your money in with your TR100 before your birthdate you will NOT get the Senior discount! If you have everthing done and send it in so that they recieve it after your birthdate you will get the license for 35.00 but your CHL will be expired until you get the new one issued. :x
I got this from Marion Stahl who is the right person to ask these kind of questions.
No, I don't like it either but don't know what can be done about it, this falls in the same catagory as the packets being mailed out, this is the process.

Thanks, El Gato. I was afraid that would be the answer. I think it's better to pay the full price and be able to carry than to wait for ????? till the new license arrives after the birthday.
