Certified NRA Classes
I am looking for an NRA Certified Basic Firearm Training Course. Can anyone point me in the right direction for one in the Houston / Humble area?

Contact tracoun (Marc) on this forum. He's an NRA instructor and should be able to help you out.

Re: Certified NRA Classes
Are you wanting to take the NRA Basic Pistol Course as a student, or do you want to get certified as an NRA Pistol Instructor?

Both. I am looking down the road to become certified. I have signed up for the June 08 CHL Instructors course and want to suplement my training between now and then. You can never have too much money or too much knowledge. From what I understand the Basic class is a prerequisite for other courses I will want to take.

Re: Certified NRA Classes
TraCoun is an NRA Training Counselor meaning he offers various NRA Instructor certification courses. I an an NRA Instructor and I teach the NRA Basic Pistol Course, but you may or may not need it. I you want to take the NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home, then you don't have to take the Basic Pistol Course, if you have the necessary handgun handling skills. The PPIH course is a prerequisite to take the NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home Course. In fact, you have to take the PPOH course before you can take the Instructor Certification for PPOH.
I have a PPIH and a PPOH course scheduled for January and February, respectfully. Let me know if you want to take either of those courses.

When are they? Those would be great courses to take (although somewhere local would probably be better for me).Charles L. Cotton wrote:I have a PPIH and a PPOH course scheduled for January and February, respectfully. Let me know if you want to take either of those courses.

The few miles driven will be well worth it. Trust me.Kalrog wrote:When are they? Those would be great courses to take (although somewhere local would probably be better for me).
You simply won't find a better instructor tandem than Charles and Marc. Anywhere.
I have certifications in NRA basic instructor, basic pistol instructor, and personal protection inside the home instructor.
Any course or seminar I see from Charles or Marc, I schedule it.
