How to End the Year with a Bang...

...or, "I didn't know the tattoo was loaded!"

Men shoot themselves in tattoo attempt

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

CHAPARRAL, N.M. -- Getting a tattoo can be a painful proposition, but usually it's just the needle you have to worry about. Two men trying to trace a loaded .357-caliber Magnum as a pattern for a tattoo accidentally shot themselves, the Otero County Sheriff's Department said Monday.

Robert Glasser and Joey Acosta, both 22, were treated at a hospital in El Paso, Texas, after the shooting Thursday evening in nearby Chaparral.

Authorities said Glasser was struck in the hand when the gun accidentally went off, and Acosta was hit in the left arm. Their injuries were not life-threatening, authorities said.

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

They were, however, terminally embarrassing.

Felony stupid! Some folks are just too dumb for their own good. And all of the modern "safety" devices we have in this world allow them to keep consuming oxygen rather than being removed from the gene pool by normal means.
When you take the time out of your day to beat someone, it has a much longer lasting effect on their demeanor than simply shooting or tazing them.

No argument on that, but this particular incident actually happened in nearby Chaparral, NM. El Paso just got to clean up the mess on this one.
