Just sent in CHL....and now we relocate

Post by airmotive »

Just as the subject explains, wife and I have just sent in our CHL packs, and this afternoon I get word that we'll be relocating to Indiana. We have recip with IN, but I'm sure there's details there that I'm missing.

Anyone been down this rode before?

not sure but i know that when you change address ya gotta notify DPS,I wonder if they would turn it into a non resident texas CHL
It is said that if you line up all the cars in the world end-to-end, someone would be stupid enough to try to pass them

Perhaps one of the other instructors or CHL holders have run into this, but if you don't get an answer, I'd suggest sending an email to the CHL unit at DPS. This is purely a guess, but I suspect they will have you give them your new address in Indiana and will treat it as a non-resident CHL, except they won't have to do a background check in Indiana.

Your Texas license automatically becomes a non-resident license when you change your address to an out-of-state address.

Remember you have 30 days after you move to notify the DPS of your new address.

Hey! We HAVE seasons!

Let's see... there's early summer, then there's summer, and umm...late summer, and then winter.

Yep, that's 4, all right.

Indiana is a very gun friendly state. To which city are you relocating?

Indiana has alifetime CHL. Of course you will not need one since you are planning on returning to Texas, right?
