Auto Assault 12 / AA12 / Combat Shotgun
Maybe someone has posted this already but I thought it might be interesting to watch for some of us. Watch it to the end.

Both Future Weapons and Weaponology are fun to watch.

Re: Auto Assault 12 / AA12 / Combat Shotgun
This reminds me of Mouse's automatic shotguns in The Matrix. From the page, "Guns Of The Matrix":

http://madogre.com/Interviews/Guns_of_the_Matrix.htm
Let's move on to Mouse. Mouse breaks out an odd pair of guns when the Agents cut the hard line after Neo sees the same cat twice. These guns are in a crate filled with .50BMG rounds... making some believe these guns are .50 calibers. This isn't true as that would be impossible. CORRECTION: I said that these guns are Manville Gas Guns. This is incorrect, and I admit my wrong here. Email from John Bowring, Key Armourer of THE MATRIX corrects me here:
"I made & supplied the guns for the Matrix
1) Mouses guns are custom made electrically driven 12g that run at 900RPM

that would be great for home defense

Re: Auto Assault 12 / AA12 / Combat Shotgun
I seem to recall seeing on TV, Dr. William Atwater, curator of the US Army Ordnance Museum, talking about a previous attempt at a full auto shotgun.
IIRC, it was abandoned after it broke the collar bone of the shooter.
So managing recoil and jump is a huge accomplishment.

I know what I want for next Christmas!

Hahaha, ha, ha... wait, you were joking, right?Tactical_Texan_CHL wrote:WOW!!! I love Future Weapons. Mack is one cool guy!
The show, especially the host, is a total joke. His carefully scripted (and breathlessly delivered) "drama" is 98% composed of what's left over after a bull finishes digestion. The other 2% is product placement: he's an advertising shill.
Even his "official biography" raises major red flags for anyone who has ever served in any military branch. We all know some of those "former Navy SEALs" who turn out to have been cooks, once upon a time, at a naval base where SEALs may (or may not) have trained, once upon a time.
Even though I find Mack's style annoying (and less than believable), I've watched the show a few times just to see some guns we don't get to see every day. I've seen so much unmitigated bovine scat that it's not even funny.
He was discussing sniper rifles once, and comparing calibers. In his trademark breathless whisper, he thrust a cartridge at the camera and declared that "This... is the deadly Seven Point Six-Two round!"
*cough*
'Scuse me, "Mack", but that's a 7.62x39, hardly the choice of snipers... well, anywhere.
Duuude... seriously? You're the host of a Discovery Channel show about military weapons, and you can't come up with even a single 7.62x51 round for comparison's sake?
Sorry, but I've just met to many SF-wannabes to give this guy any credibility.

I've never been in the military, so could you please highlight those red flags?KBCraig wrote:Even his "official biography" raises major red flags for anyone who has ever served in any military branch. I've never been in the military either, but that is a pretty impressive resume.
The shotgun was pretty impressive too, especially with the "grenade" shells. One of the characters from the "Able Team" novels used the "Atchisson" AA12 back in the 80's.

I'm thinking the guy is who he says he is. I don't like his delivery (the voice and dramatic pauses etc that he takes). Also a lot of the show is nothing more than manufacturers trying to get their product out there but is still fun to watch.

My posts on this website are worth every cent you paid me for them.
