Are we talking about taco cabana non-compliant where the letter sizing is too small, or an obvious poor attempt such as Traders Village's old 4412(e) printed on the back of the receipt?
This poll deals with non-compliant signage such as the reduced sized ones, english only, etc. We're not talking about the ghost-buster kind of sign but attempts to have 30.06 signs that do not meet the requirements of Texas 30.06.

can I have "Respect the owner and ask why they have a sign banning law abiding citizens and advertising that their business and patrons are voluntarily unarmed" ?

that would be my choice.

We are under no legal obligation to obey non-compliant 30.06 signs.

Led,

I updated the 4th choice. I think this what you're getting at.

I wonder why we still have a 0% category. I am waiting to see the folks that said they would disarm , to start voting.

Each situation would have to be decided separately. I can't say for sure that I was never walk past a non-compliant sign. Most times, if time allowed, I'd take my business elsewhere, and then try to contact the owner/management via phone or email.

Luckily, I live in small-town USA, and since I've started actively looking, I have been unable to find even an improperly posted attempt at 30.06.

Exectly correct therefore my vote in the poll is "It Depends".

Case in point - My wife's mother recently had, what we feared at the time was a stroke. My wife called 911 and then called me. I immediatly left work to meet her at the emergency room.

Now, I was fully aware that the hospital was properly posted 30.06 but did I take the time to disarm in my rush to join my wife and MIL in the emergency room? No.

During subsequest visits however (once she was admitted and placed in a room) I did disarm before entering the building.

While there were mitigating factors, you broke the law since it was a valid 30.06 sign. I can disarm in 20 seconds on the way out of the vehicle. This is a topic for another thread.

This poll is not about valid signs, it's about non-compliant signs. Since the signs do not comply, no law is broken.

voted :Respect the Non-Compliant Sign and Do Business Elsewhere
but admittedly thats about 90% of the time.

That only applies (to me) for 30.06 signs, compliant or noncompliant.

Any obviously noncompliant signs (ghostbusters types, etc) I'll feel a bit better about ignoring it.
One that I usually ignore is at my vet; they do a lot of good work with a rescue I volunteer with, and do a great job with our cats, so I give them money, even though tey are obviously "wrong" on the issue.

How about another choice: Disrespect the owner and sign, leave, leave them a card letting them know why I am boycotting them and encouraging everyone I know to do the same.

I make no assuptions about the intent of any sign, if they are too stupid to post a proper sign, then they are.

If they want to fake out the anti-gun nuts by posting a non-compliant sign so that CHLs can pass it, then they are stupid, see above.

If they made an error in judgement and posted the wrong sign, then see above.

I see no reason to comply with signs that obviously do not meet the standard established in the law, but I don't see any reasoon to give stupid people business either.

I voted to ignore the non-compliant sign and enter the property. Just to make sure that no one misunderstand, I do not judge a sign non-compliant unless it is clearly and unequivocably so.
