I set off alarm at DFW airport?

Post by bluelineman »

Yesterday, I went to pick up my parents at the DFW airport. I was carrying my son as I went in. We get through the sliding doors & suddenly a loud screeching alarm went off. We were the only ones going through at the time. We kept walking as the same pace. There was a worker to the right of us when we got in, she looked up & kinda nodded and smiled at my son. About 20 ft to the left was a police substation, door closed. I kept going about my business & nobody approached us. I was carrying my Glock 26 OWB with proper concealment clothing. Any ideas as to what that was? It did not go off as we exited the same door.

DISCLAIMER: It is only illegal in Texas to carry in the sterile portion of the airport. We were in the unsecured part, going towards baggage claim.

I would have done exactly as you did. Just keep going. After all, as you pointed out, your were perfectly legal and even if it were you (which I doubt) that set off the alarm, so what!!

When Wifeys Want To Kill: Episode 429

Last November I rolled in on Saturday afternoon, the sucessful hunter having brought back his buck (in a cooler).
Following day, Wifey was leaving on an International flight to Chile for a mission trip.

She was singled out for the "puffer device".
She stepped in, and the air started swirling around.... and all heck broke loose.
Alarms, and guys with guns, showed up outside the puffer.

Seems that she took my Camping Overnight Bag on the trip.
Apparantly, there was enough gunpowder residue from my 3 spent 7mm Mags on my fingers, to get on the bag.

When she got home from her trip, I got a stern talking to! :smilelol5:

That must have been one tough deer to need three 7mm mags... :smilelol5:

Stupid deer.
My scope was off by 12-18 inches!
The first two shots were "ranging shots" :eek6

3rd shot I aimed not for his neck, but COM behind the shoulder.
It hit him in the neck.

Lesson learned.
a) Don't EVER go to the field with an untested rifle.
b) Don't let the Wifey take your range bag to the airport...

I'm impressed that he was still standing there after the first 2 shots.

If it was still there after the first 'ranging shot', I'd be thinking that it was probably one of those robo-deer, and vacate the premises before the game warden showed up asking questions.

Funny story, though.
