I have an opportunity to purchase a Beretta 92FS from a friend of mine. He has less than 200 rounds through it, (1) extra magazine, carry case and lock for it. He's asking $425 for it. Is this a good deal? What is the average price for a pre-owned Beretta 92FS?
Please advise....

I would say its a good price ,I have one and it is a sweet shooter out of the box.
I'am not sure on the average on used but when I bought mine new I think it was 686.00 and I thouhgt that was good.
Its also in stainless steel.

From what I've seen at recent Houston area shows, new ones are going for about $425, barring any extra options like night sights.
I'm pretty sure AJC sells one with 3-15rd mags for around $410.

I also got mine about a year ago it was a "Police Special", $400, $420 with taxes. Came with 3 Mags no plastic case.but that being said, I would have paid over $500 for it if I had to.. Its a fine shooting gun.

I was at the Ft Worth show and saw some for $399 cash. Blued.
I paid $545 for mine 4 years ago.
$425 is a good but not great price.
Sorry you can only afford this gun, if you would have went to a real University you could pick up a XD, Glock, or good 1911.

Don't get 'em wrong longhorn.
92FS is a great pistol. A little bulky, but great balance and a very reliable piece. I would still use mine as a primary, but when I moved to Texas about 8 years ago I found it to be a little too heavy for the lighter clothing I was wearing.
Bottom Line: If you haven'l already purchased it, here's my vote for YES!!!

Re: Purchase Beretta 92FS
I'd willingly pay that for a nearly-new 92FS in a private sale - 200 rounds is barely broken in.
