Pirate take over French yacth
U.S. ship/troops gonna have to rescue?

Maybe sneak up on 'em in this: (not sure if photo will "take")
2,000 HP Outboard Inflatable ..
Here's the latest drug runner toy from Europe .
This thing belts across the English channel 3 times per week and was just a blur on the radar ! of the British Coast Guard. They were so astonished by the speed of the unknown craft, they brought in a special high speed helicopter to chase it. Drugs were found on board. Of course, you'd have to be on drugs to put the throttle down on this rig.
Edited to add: Yep, the photo would not paste. Maybe if EagleEye comes along he can post it. About a 24' inflatable with 8 250 horse outboards mounted across the stern ...

There are reports that this has been going on for quite awile in Asian waters, and they are particularly brutal.

An interesting "sonic weapon" that may or may not been on board: http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/ptech/03/0 ... index.html
Same or similar device evidently available to cruise ships: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/4418748.stm
I'd still like backup by twin fifties!

Let it go to voicemail.
If you can read this, thank a teacher. If it's on the internet, thank a geek.

There has been a lot of pirate activity off of Somalia in recent years. I believe I could have found another route for my luxury yacht.

Hah! And the message ought to be, "This mailbox is full. Please try again later."tarkus wrote:Let it go to voicemail.
Am I ever sick of these European countries that support bloated welfare states while relying on us for their national defense.
Did you notice that NATO voted unanimously yesterday to agree that we should build a missile shield in Eastern Europe? All this while they have been pussyfootting around with Iran in the UN these last few years whenever we try to pass tough sanctions in an effort to stop their nuclear bomb development. I would like to focus their attention by telling them that if they wanted a missile shield they should BUILD THEIR OWN. (Or maybe support us more strongly in the UN when we need it.)
We'll deploy ours on Aegis crusiers where we can choose who we extend protection to, and when, and on our own turf where the missiles will protect us.
And of course the Democrats say, "Hey, those countries all have government health care. We should have it too."
Even ignoring the fact that government health care is likely to have the same quality as "government food", and that the typical unemployment rate in the EU is between 8 and 10%, all those health care countries would be living under totalitarian dictators today if it wasn't for us.
Even today, all the Russians have to do is turn a couple of valves in their gas pipeline network and the EU is back to digging at the ground with sticks for food.
I hear that France is sending 700 troops to Afganistan later this year. Nice gesture, but how do you say "Big deal!" in French? And what's with these other so-called NATO "allies" who only agree to send troops to peaceful areas where they won't have to fight? Anyplace where the Taliban is active, and the little chickens want us to handle it.
And how is France going to supply those troops with fuel, water, ammo, and the other necessities of combat? You think they are going to use that big airbase we set up? Or maybe they'll just bum stuff from us.
Sorry for the rant. A friend just recently visited London. Over lunch yesterday she related how she was catching a lot of gas from Londoners with a low opinion of the USA, George Bush, etc. I would have loved to have been there in her place. Oh, for the opportunity to ask those ignorant fools if they think they could have survived the German onslaught in WW2 without our help.
