CHL application---college student

Post by lws380 »

My son just completed CHL class. Lives in an appartment on campus. Drivers License has home address.

Should he put residence address as home and mailing address at school? Where will they send license? Any help is appreciated.

Both addresses should match. The actual CHL plastic card is used as the address label when it is sent out.

His CHL needs to have the same address as his drivers license. If he considers your home to be his permanent address, then that is what should be on his CHL. If he does not, then he needs to change his address on his drivers license before sending in the CHL application.

That is what I thought. Thanks for the comments and help.

I told him to keep in his vehicle. As I understand it, can't carry in buildings, but parking lots and side walks are ok. Lots and all entrances are not posted. Told him to keep his mouth shut about having a CHL and tell no one.

There is lots of crime around him.

And I would suggest finding a way to securely lock it in his vehicle. Cars get broken into all the time.
Remember, in a life-or-death situation, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

We are working on that. I have a couple of Center Of Mass safes and will start with that. I also do welding and I'm considering making a lock box from heavier steel to attach under the back seat.

I don't go to TC any more. Shame... I really liked their breakfast tacos.
