Brady email wrote:A Look Inside — and Outside — the Supreme Court Hearing: What's Ahead for Sensible Gun Laws
On March 18, Brady President Paul Helmke and your Brady Center legal team were in the Supreme Court as the nine justices questioned lawyers in the most significant Second Amendment case in the nation’s history.
After the extended Court session, Paul spoke to the press, one of many interviews that week.
Outside, on the steps of the Supreme Court, Brady Campaign and Center staff, Million Mom March Chapters and other activists raised our banners high, waved to cheering passers-by, and gave interviews to the press.
Thanks to your support, your Brady Center is now preparing for the vital next steps — legal, legislative, and political — that will follow the Court’s decision in late June.

Brady Campaign, Million Mom March Chapters, and Local Activists Organize Remembrance Events in April
One year ago, on April 16th, 32 individuals were murdered and many others injured on the campus of Virginia Tech. That tragedy was a stark reminder of the tremendous toll our nation pays for weak gun laws.
This month, across the nation, we pay tribute to and remember all the victims and survivors of gun violence at more than 70 local commemorations in partnership with ProtestEasyGuns.com and other local allies.
We will be calling on the U.S. Congress to close the gun show loophole. The Brady Campaign’s message is simple: No Brady background check. No gun. No excuses.

Meet a Sensible Gun Law Activist: Andrew Goddard, father of Virginia Tech victim, and President, Richmond Million Mom March Chapter
Andy Goddard’s son, Colin, was shot on April 16, 2007 at Virginia Tech.
Andy vowed as he sat beside his son’s bed that, if his son lived, he would work to keep other parents and families from enduring the same torture of possibly losing a child to gun violence.
Colin did survive, and Andy, now president of the Richmond Million Mom March Chapter, has kept that vow.
