Handgun Proficiency Score??

Post by skeezix »

Can somebody confirm what I think I know?

The "passing score" for the handgun proficiency portion (shooting) of CHL qualification is 175. Right? Or not?

Thanks.

Yes, 175 or 70% is a passing score.

ETA:Here is a link for some good info on the shooting test.

If you shoot all fives from 3 yards you've got 100pts. If you shoot 15 of 20 fives at 7 yards that's another 75. If you completely miss everything else, congratulations you've passed.

This is not to say you shouldn't go for gold*, but if you practice the 7 yard order of fire and hit 5s consistently, you'll do fine.

*Missed it by that [] much, chief.
