That is why you should angle plates when shooting them.

This is a timely thread. I've always punched paper only out on my property (well, we did cut a tree down with an AK-47 once), but have been interested in reactive steel targets for obvious reasons. The threat of a ricochet is always on my mind, though.
Has anyone had experience with these kinds of targets? Is it simply enough to angle them off to the side? What kind of angle are we talking about here?
It just seems very frightening to send FMJs down range at a steel target.
