New Purchase

Post by razoraggie »

I have a 1911 in a Springfield .38 Super, but I am REALLY wanting to be the proud owner of a 1911 in .45. Is there anywhere in Houston (prefer south of I-10) that has a good selection of multiple vendor 1911s to campare? I know that Academy and ProDefense down on this side of town really do not have that many to choose from. -OR- If anyone knows of some one that is selling one in great shape between $500-$700?

Mods: if this falls into the "Buy/Sell" area, feel free to move or inform me, but just throwing this out where there's a few more fish.

Your best bet and best price, too, would be at the gun show this weekend at George R. Brown.

There will be 3-4 large dealers there with wide selections of 1911's.

You can also try Collectors Firearms on Richmond. Prices are high but they usually have a good selection of moderate to higher priced 1911's.

:iagree:
When I was looking for my 1911 I went there and found that they had probably close to 100 1911s in different brands. Prices were a little high for my wallet though.

The gun show should provide enough variety and value for you to take the plunge, and beats going to the mall with your wife on a weekend any time! For something in your price range, take a good look at the Taurus PT1911. Good luck.

I'd consider a Para, purchased a PXT SSP from Academy and it's a fine gun. Tight fit, shoots great, no problems and it was less than $700.
