Someone want to take me on a hunting trip?

I have a good amount of experience with handguns and shooting scary paper boogeymen but would like to get into hunting. Personally I find that killing animals for sport only to be a waste of an animal(to each his own, however), but hunting for food I am totally game (pun intended).

The problem is, I have never been hunting, do not know one iota of what is required in terms of rifles, knives, prepping meat, etc. I'm hoping that someone on this forum might be willing to let me tag along on a weekend deer hunting trip to get a crash course. I would be willing to pay to help defract the costs if necessary. I live in N. Dallas.
