Anybody in the San Antonio area willing to let me take a look at their Milt Sparks Versa Max II? I'm seriously considering buying this holster -- or getting my name in the queue anyway -- but I'd really like to take a look at one in person.
Main reasons for purchasing one is the belt straps are spaced out wide and I tend to think this may lessen the bulk of the rig altogether. Also the option for kydex clips and using it as a tuckable is appealing as well. Of course, I don't know how well that will work with a Glock 19 since it's not the thinnest pistol in the world.
Any comments about this would be helpful as well.
Milt Sparks Versa Max II Questions
Re: Milt Sparks Versa Max II Questions
I'm not in San Antonio, but I will do my best to describe my experience with the VMII. I have both the VMII and Comp-Tac MTAC holster for my Sig P229. Like your G19, the 229 is not exactly a thin pistol. I think the VMII conceals better than my MTAC, and I prefer to wear the VMII if I'm putting on an untucked shirt for concealment. The reason is that VMII forces the pistol flush with my body, while the MTAC pretty much lets my spare tire push the pistol out and makes it more prone to print. At first I thought the VMII was uncomfortable, with the stiff leather, but after a few wears it has softened up a little and I find it to be very comfortable to wear.
I wear my MTAC to work, when I need to put on a tucked shirt. I haven't tried the VMII's tuckable kydex clips yet, but thinking pretty hard about buying them now.
I know the queue at Milt Sparks is pretty ridiculous, about 6 months now. I'd recommend checking on www.topgunsupply.com as they sometimes have them in stock. If not, then have them send you an email when it comes back in stock (which is how I got my VMII in 3 days).

Re: Milt Sparks Versa Max II Questions
Thanks for the reply. I went ahead and ordered a Com3 from Eric at HBE Leatherworks since he made my first holster, a GS tuckable. I didn't realize Eric made a holster similar to the VMII. Anyway, when I called he said he'd cut the leather today, Tuesday, and get it sent out within a week. The craftsmanship of my GS is great, so I have no doubt the Com3 will be excellent.
