I went into my "fortress of solitude" closed the door and put some ZZ Top on the boom box. I then totally reorganized my gun safe. I mean I took everything out and started from scratch. At one point, though, I did have to stop and let the cat into my room. To that guy a closed door is a challenge and it was let him in or listen to him howl until I got finished.

I bought this gun safe about 4 years ago when I realized that I just had too many fire arms and too much ammo to not lock it up. When the grandkids would come over I was running out of room to hide it all. When I bought it I took out all the rifle storage features and installed a cantilever shelving system. I have arthritis in both shoulders so I have gotten rid of all my long guns except for my Ruger 10/22. But I have a fairly respectable collection of hand guns. This shelving system has worked out well but I have continued to collect so things were getting kind of confusing in there. I was loosing control.
The guns I shoot most are my 4 Glocks (17, 23, 21, and my daily carry the 36) Each of those now has it's own shelf with room for all it's magazines and ammo on the same shelf. I also have a few revolves and each of them has it's own space with it's ammo right next to it. I also have some .22s and they too have their own spot. I also now have a large plastic tray in the bottom which contains (almost) all my holsters and magazine pouches.
I am now getting the very best use out of the space I have but one thing is clear. If I buy one more gun or one more box of ammo before I go shooting again I'm gonna need a new safe. Bummer!
