You are correct. The city-owned buses in Galveston cannot be legally 30.06 posted. The private tour operators generally don't bother. I haven't encountered any valid 30.06 signs at tourist places in Galveston. Some have generic "no guns" signs along with no food, smoking, booze, etc.

anyone know if DART in DFW is posted? i'm gng to start commuting by bicycle and DART on occasion. i don't think i'd feel comfortable on the bus if i wasn't packing.

You will be fine on DART. Government owned = no enforceable 30.06

SB501 back in 2005, if I recall correctly, cleared the issue of government owned facilities (and services in this case) up...
