Expect a narrow ruling although we might be pleasantly surprised. This case is only about whether a ban on possessing a functional firearm in the home is constitutional according to the Second Amendment.

There are a couple of threads here discussing this in some detail already, e.g., this one:

Heller ruling out of SCOTUS today?

"Undoubtedly some think that the Second Amendment is outmoded in a society where our standing army is the pride of our nation, where well-trained police forces provide personal security and where gun violence is a serious problem

Well 5-4 was enough to win I wish it would have been 9-0. The quote above was by someone on crack, can you believe this bufous

That crackhead was Antonin Scalia. Look at the rest of his statement.
"Undoubtedly some think that the Second Amendment is outmoded in a society where our standing army is the pride of our Nation, where well-trained police forces provide personal security, and where gun violence is a serious problem," Justice Scalia wrote. "That is perhaps debatable, but what is not debatable is that it is not the role of this Court to pronounce the Second Amendment extinct."

That was Scalia being sarcastic, just like he was being snarky when he cited one of Ginsburg's opinions that seemed to conflict with her dissent.

I think the sarcasm and snarkiness were both appropriate. ;-)
