Seguin-Guadalupe County Coliseum Alcohol Sales

Post by pedalman »

Since I play in a band as a side job, I am particularly sensitive to valid signage where alcohol is being sold.

Case in point: the facility mentioned in the title. It is a city-owned property, but they use a contracted concessionaire to handle the alcohol sales. I was playing a job at a benefit dance being held there. Of course, I disarmed; particularly since I have not been inside the building proper before. I looked all over, but could not see a license, or a sign displayed.

As a CHL, it may be my responsibility to know what is 51% or not, but I feel it is THEIR responsibility to make that status publicly visible, per the law. :grumble

I submitted a complaint to the TABC by email on Sunday. This morning, I was informed that the complaint was being forwarded to an agent in the Austin District Office.

More details to follow as they unfold.

Here is the link to the Coliseum's Web site:

On an unrelated note, I also noticed that there were no uniformed LEOs serving as security, against their posted policy. Since this detail was not pertinent to alcohol sales, I did not include it in the complaint.
