I am pretty sure that you have 30 days to let DPS know if you change address, but are you still aloud to carry? Even after the 30 days? I already received my new drivers license already, but I am still waiting on my CHL, and it looks like it may be a while due to all of these IKE delays.
Thanks

Police Officer to me: I like your Glock shirt, that is what I am carrying on my waist right now.

Re: Change of Address
IMHO, it is not illegal (that is, a criminal offense) to carry a concealed handgun with a CHL that has the wrong address (or name). Penal code §46.15(b)(6) says
However, under GC §411.187, if you fail to change the name or address on your license, your license can be suspended for 30 days. In that case, the license would become invalid.

Your license does not become invalid if your name or address changes.Section 46.02 does not apply to a person who ... is carrying a concealed handgun and a valid license issued under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, to carry a concealed handgun...
However, under GC §411.187, if you fail to change the name or address on your license, your license can be suspended for 30 days. In that case, the license would become invalid.

Fear, anger, hatred, and greed. The devil's all-you-can-eat buffet.
Re: Change of Address
you can still carry until your new license arrives. DPS trooper confirmed it with me when I did mine. Even if it takes over 30 days to arrive, in the system it has been changed and you will be in the clear

Re: Change of Address
Ok so I just got my license in the mail... with one minor problem.....
THE ADDRESS IS INCORRECT!!
Everything is the same except the zip code.
So I just sent them an email asking them what to do. What do yall think they will say? Can I still carry?

Re: Change of Address
DPS will probably send you a corrected license. They may or may not ask you to send back the incorrect one. This kind of thing has happened before.
I would continue to carry. You are legally qualified to have a license, and it's not your fault that DPS made a mistake. I can't imagine a police officer being such a hard case as to quibble about your ZIP code.
However, I am not a lawyer, so don't take what I say as legal advice.
