Cedar Park CHL holder arrested at ABIA

Post by mr.72 »

Just heard the news on the radio.

CHL holder from Cedar Park was arrested while carrying a .380 in his carry-on luggage. Screeners caught it on x-ray.

Looking for the online version of the story.

what's the big deal, a .380 ain't really a gun! :leaving

just kidding...

really is a bad deal for the CHL holder, he'll be losing his license, for sure.
FWIW, IIRC, AFAIK, FTMP, IANAL. YMMV.

Agreed that it is bad. But it could be an accident.

I know from personal experience. I accidentally took a 3" folding knife through security at DFW - TSA missed it on the X-ray (yes this was post 9/11). Security caught it on the way back in San Diego. TSA calls local LEO, he does a a little Q&A and escorts me to the ticket counter to check my bag, no citation since there was no intent. On the way to the ticket counter, I apologized and stated I hoped I hadn't pulled him away from anything else important. He said, "just my lunch". Man did I ever apologize more. I hate having my lunch interrupted.

The knife was in a pair of jeans I threw into the carry-on bag at the last minute. Never wore them. I didn't get any free time on that business trip. I had no checked luggage on the trip out to San Diego so I know it went through DFW without being caught.
