EBR availablity in your areas?

Post by Moonpie »

With the run on AR's and all, what have you seen available of other EBR's in your areas?

Over my way ALL AR's and AK atyle rifles are gone! Have seen ONE camo'ed Remington R-25(.308).
One or two FN2000's and not much else.
Nothing in the way of SKS's, .30M1carbines, Hakim's, Garands, etc.
Ammo is GONE in common rifle and pistol calibers. Some high end hunting rifle ammo still around.
Shotguns still very evident. Ammo plentiful.

What are you folks seeing?

What area are you in? Sporting Arms (DFW) has Sig 556 and Sig 556 Swats in stock.

Pretty good selection left in EBR's, not empty selves by any means, still SKS's, AK's, etc....not all that was there, particularly cheap ammo is catch as catch can (Academy, Wallyworld).

They are here, but prices have generally risen 20%-40%.

Get parts, and everything save teh lower is still the same price online, but with a 3-12 week wait.

Was in Bachman in Dallas mid week. Standard AR-wise, they had nothing but Colts, beginning at $1,500.

I'm curious as to what the inventory will be at Market Hall show this weekend ...

I went to my local Acadamy yesterday. They had an AR for $999 and change. I didn't notice who made it. They also had one Remington R=25 in .243 for about $1400 or so.

Why doesn't anyone buy the camo'd remington's? I've been to a few stores and they are always sitting on the self. No interest whatsoever.

899 isn't terrible. I got my last bushy for 100 less than that.

$15-$20 is about what i'd expect to pay retail for AR mags. Almost makes me wish I had $900 to spend; I'd have bought another bushmaster instead of piecing a rifle together.

I was in Lubbock today. One shop, known for its high prices, had a number of ARs in stock, not a single one I saw was priced below $12,000 at least one of them was a post ban configuration. A second shop had ARs in stock, but I didn't want to see prices so I passed on that. The one shop in Lubbock that is well known as an AR shop had no complete guns, no uppers, no assembled lowers (They did have some stripped lowers which were/are tempting).

Such a deal! I'll take three at that price. Oh wait a minute, maybe a typo?

Usually, their black ARs are Bushmasters.

As to the lack of popularity of the new Remington AR guns, here's my two cents:
- At $1289 (Cabellas) its not cheap. They sell Bushmasters for under $1000.
- Its a new gun. Is it reliable? Accurate?
- Is it compatible with all the add on Ar 15 goodies?
- I don't want to be the guinea pig who finds out.

I'll stick with Bushmaster, DPMS or Olympic for now.

One flat top Bushy $899 (I think that was the price) at the Pearland Academy this afternoon, and one CX4 in .45. Pistol counter was standing room only. They were running real low on .223 and 7.62x39. The 7.62s were $13 for a box of 20. Unbelievable.
