Prayers for a friend - Updated

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

Prayers for a friend - Updated

Post by quidni »

We have a dear friend who has been dealing with Crohn's Disease for some years. She's been in for multiple surgeries over the last 3-4 years for the Crohn's, as well as for complications from healing such as hernias. She went in today for what was supposed to be a "routine, out-patient" surgery to repair another hernia, and it turned out to be more involved than her doctors or surgeon expected. Scar tissue had caused adhesion of her intestine to the abdominal wall & that took a while to remedy. So instead of going home the day after, the surgeon is now saying he "hopes" to have her home by Christmas.

Her husband is also not in the best of health... he's got some damage to the cervical vertebrae, as well as what seems to be heart trouble but the docs can't agree on what's really causing it.

If y'all could keep Shauna and Will in your prayers, it would be much appreciated.

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

+1 on the prayers.

As a note, my Father-in-Law had the adhesion lysis surgery performed due to intestinal adhesions. The success rate on no recurrence is very good for her. He has had no issues for 2 years now. :thumbs2:

We will pray for both of them. Thanks for letting us know and providing yet another opportunity to show our faith.

Lord we lift up Shauna and Will to You, for You are their comforter, You are their healer and we ask you to take them up into your arms and let Your love fill them peace.

Spoke with Shauna by phone early yesterday afternoon, and she didn't sound like she was doing too well. Apparently she was doing a lot better last night and this morning, and the docs decided it was safe for her to go home!

She'll be staying with an aunt for a time so she can rest (too many people, including kids, at her home passing around too many colds & sniffles) and hopefully avoid infection. Her immune system is compromised enough as it is.

Thank you all for the prayers, & please continue to pray that her recovery is complete and uneventful. Now if we can just get Willy's health straightened out....

May God continue to bless each and every one of you as well, as you have lifted others up in prayer and blessing.
