"Fast" and "State" in the same sentence?

Post by skip »

We had just recently moved and I went to pick up my new XDM-40, I get to the to the register to pay and..."Oh Crap" I haven't updated my DL or my CHL, the guy at my favorite Gun Shop (The Powderhorn) say's I need to at least get my DL updated and just bring in the temp paper and it will work fine with my CHL. So, I do that the next morning and go back and pick up the XDM. That was on the 2nd of this month. I decide I better go ahead and send in the change of address to the State and get that over with. I sent it in on the 2nd, I figure it took at least a couple of day's just to get there, I was told it would be like 6-8 weeks to get the new updated CHL in the mail. Well SURPRISE SURPRISE SURPRISE (Gomer Pyle reference), I get it in the mail today. Not bad I figure. :thumbs2: :thumbs2:

I too had to change my address when I moved to SA on my CHL...I think mine took a lil longer than yours but I was also very surprised at how fast they did it. By the way where is that gun store at?

The PowderHorn is located at 2412 SW Loop 410 San Antonio TX 78227 and their number is 210-674-5220. They are certainly not the largest, but they will take the time to explain anything to you if you need advise on something.

I recently moved also and changed my DL and CHL on the same day, and they both were returned in a couple of weeks..and arrived on the same day! I was shocked.

Maybe things are getting better at the DPS. :thumbs2:

Well having just moved out of state I had to do the same thing, only difference is that I couldn't do mine online since I now have an out-of-state drivers license. So, mailed off the paper form along with a photocopy of the new license. Check(s) that I included (fiance and myself) were cashed within about 1 1/2 weeks, so we'll see when the new plastic actually arrives.
Success always occurs in private, and failure in full view.

Well apparently the state and I are on the same page because the fiance and I just got our new plastic. Total time about 3 weeks...
