Murry Christmas to Me!

Post by barnez »

I received my 50 BMG upper on Christmas Eve. It was exactly 1 year, 1 month, and 11 days since I ordered it back in November 2007. It is the Bohica Arms MK-III on a S&W lower w/ an Ace ARFX stock.

I'll probably shoot less than 100/rds a year out of this thing.

Do I understand correctly that the Bohica upper mates to a standard, unmodified AR15 lower?

yep, you need to do two things. take the bolt open assembly out of the lower (or get the modified one bohica sells) and remove the buffer/spring/pin so the bolt can go into the buffer tube.

I know this is a stupid question, but isn't the recoil on that monster pretty horrendous?

Another stupid question, whats the expected life-span of the AR-15 lower with that BMG upper?

I ask because I am a neophyte when it comes to detailed arms knowledge.

most of the recoil is taken out by the brake. here it is next to a 12 gauge shotgun.

life span is not an issue, they have shot over 650 rounds w/ a hole elongation of .002". apparently most of the recoil goes to where the upper and lower meet around the buffer tube ring.
