Free Seminar Fraiady 1/16/09

Post by TEX »

A friend and I attended the free "Lethal Force" seminar that Charles Cotton gives in Friendswood. It was outstanding and well worth the drive all the way from Katy. It was head and shoulders above anything I have gotten from others, even the DPS when I was an instructor myself back in the last century. There is now no question in my mind who I will be taking my renewal classes from in the future. If you get a chance to make one of these seminars, it will be time well spent. He has a unique perspective and sees it from an attorney’s point of view. I think this is valuable because if there is a question about a shooting, it will be attorneys (DAs) that will be looking it over and deciding whether to recommend prosecution to the Grand Jury. He was running short on time, but there were two areas I wish he had covered a little more; why shooting someone over property can often be a very bad idea, even if it is legal.\, and a good definition of crimes such as aggravated assault, etc. (what the layman’s definition is).

Thanks Mr. Cotton - Good Beans
