Coming from Florida
I'm here in Texas for work from Florida with a CHL (from Florida). I was thinking of staying and becoming a full-time Texan. :) Does anybody know if there might be some kind of shortcut for a Texas CHL since I've got an active one in Florida?

Welcome to the forum.
Texas doesn't give you a break for already having a concealed-carry license from another state.
However, if you become a Texas resident, you should be able to change your Florida license to non-resident and use it in Texas. That would give you all the time you wanted to get a Texas license.
