To close to Grandones

Post by longtooth »

Why carry 24-7? Because the Meth labs are moving into HIGH income areas. Lufkin PD just reciently busted a huge Meth lab in the 4 Seasons addition of the city. These are 6 figure homes and many of them start w/ a 2. It is in easy child walking distance of Brookhollow Elementary School where my Son-in-Law teaches & youngest Granddaughter will go to school next yr. The lab was less than a mile from where they live. Dad has promiced her they will walk to school some next yr. There are enough runners, walkers, bikers, etc in the greater area neighborhood that a neatly dressed unknown would never be suspected if they were not talking to your family or neighbors, or kids.

Yes sir D. Hope it jars the Son-in-law into going ahead & getting his CHL. Would not hurt to show all school teachers that are not real crazy about the expense of CHL & the tool inventory that is necessary that news paper. ("This is why we carry" ;-) ) If it can happen that close to Brookhollow it can happen that close to PCA school. If it can happen in 4 seasons it can happen between my house & your house. (Matter of fact it did about 2 yr ago.) Right at the stop sign. :eek6 Don't know if you knew that or not.

in all honesty, that shouldn't surprise anyone. just because you have a nice house doesn't mean you are impervious to crime, regardless of type. i've seen a ton of the twenty-something doper move in with help less grandma in her nice house and take up operation. as long as grandma gets a car out of the deal, she keeps her mouth shut. eventually grandma dies, the police seize the house, and junior gets a job at the license plate factory. then all the neighbors freak out because a crime was committed in their neighborhood, and it was old lady smith. i've seen a very high ranking army officer go down in an identity theft ring. guess it wasn't enough to lead soldiers. not all criminals have tatoos and scruffy appearances.

take nothing for granted.

I guess some part of me is not real surprised about something like this. Lets face it, this is a VERY lucrative business, right. So, why not buy an expensive home, in a good area where there is generally less police presence?

The cops are constantly working the streets of the bad areas and have a perceived less need in the high end areas. Its a recipe if you ask me.
