NFA ruled unconstitutional?

I just received an e-mail from The Gun Source stating that the owner had filed a lawsuit in Federal court asking that NFA laws be ruled unconstitutional and the 7th Circuit agreed.

TGSCOM is very excited to announce:

That NFA laws have been repealed through a long standing court battle in the 7th US Circuit Court. The president of TGSCOM had sued the federal government on the grounds that the NFA law violated the Second Amendment of the Constitution. After heated and lengthy oral arguments, TGSCOM is now able to sell fully automatic weapons to the general public without tax stamps and the additional background check. The one stipulation to the agreement is that fully automatic rifles will be treated like handguns in that they will require a purchaser of 21 and older, the firearm must be transferred in the state of their residence (same as handguns) and that the buyer must submit to all regulations in the state of their residence.

What this means for you:

We will now be adding a limited number of fully automatic firearms to our inventory. They will be sold on a first come first served basis. The benefit is that not only can you own them, but they do not have the $20,000 price tag they normally do.

California residents:

Since this ruling is so new, there are no restrictions for California residents. Bet on the fact that they will be up to speed very quickly with reducing your Constitutional rights so take full advantage while you can!

wow their site is so slow today most likely because of that ad. I like the statements they have for some of the guns; like used for self defense and big game hunting.

I'm not totally sure what's going on here, but I'm afraid I'm prepared to be angry. The advertising email (with the graphic "FULL autos, NOW legal for everyone, starting at $620.95") went out shortly after the clock turned to Wednesday, and if you look around Google you'll find upwards of 150 hits already, many assuming this is true.

I visited thegunsource.com, and there is no retraction whatsoever about this being an April Fool's joke. As others have said, the site is really slow, so the owner, Eric Thompson, has at least succeeded in getting a huge volume of hits.

But I followed through all the way to attempting to place several of the displayed full-auto firearms into the shopping cart (Glock 16, HK G36, FNH M249). And on all the pages, the link to add-to-cart was hardcoded to point to a canned error page that displays a graphic saying the server at tgscom.com is taking too long to respond; click the Back button and keep trying.

So my take is that this is, in fact, an April Fool's joke that will be retracted tomorrow...and one I think is in very poor judgment. If I'm correct, I am NOT happy with TGSCOM owner Eric Thompson for this little charade.

With everything we are, and will be, facing with the Obama administration and a House ruled by liberal Democrats (just see the latest blather blaming U.S. gun sales for all the drug cartel violence in Mexico) the last thing honest, law-abiding gun owners need is an asinine April Fool's joke that casts gun owners in an unfavorable light. Just wait until we start seeing backlash accusations from the anti-gunners: "I suppose thousands of gun deaths each year is also humorous to the gun lovers"; or "Will it be funny the next time someone goes on a killing rampage with an 'assault rifle'?"

I'm going to hold my tongue for a couple of days and see what transpires, but I have a suspicion Mr. Thompson is going to receive a letter from me in a few days telling him that I believe he managed to damage our cause. I respect and support his First Amendment rights, but if he's done what I think he's done, I believe we should hold him to task for it.

I have to agree, the joke was done poorly.

Personally, I'd have gone in the other direction, something like:

"Obama declares guns illegal via execuetive order, will use newly found superpowers to find and destroy all illegal guns" like an onion article.

That, and I also want to see a great photoshop job of Obama in a superman costume with his O logo on the front, I think it'd be insanity.
