Taurus 1911 Aluminum Frame VS. Steel Frame
I am in the market for a 1911 to shoot every now and then. I have read good reviews on the Taurus so I went down to Academy to look at them. They had an aluminum frame model and a steel frame model for about $50 more. Has anyone had any experience with the aluminum frame model or with the steel frame model?
Re: Taurus 1911 Aluminum Frame VS. Steel Frame
I bought three of the blued PT1911's and one stainless.
One of the blued ones was converted to .460 Rowland.
I have never had an issue with any of them.
Sorry, no experience with the aluminum framed, but given my track record, would not hesitate to buy one.

I have had no issues with my blue PT 1911 whatsoever. It's a very good pistol for the price and will do what it's supposed to do without temperment, IME. I wish Taurus would produce a compact version of the PT 1911.
