Handgun Sight Paints - Illuminators

I'm having trouble picking up and aligning my front sights on target.

Does anyone have any experience with "Brightsight" paints or "Nitesiter" pasties? Suggestions will be appreciated.

Also, have you tried the "big dot" sights?

Long before any of the dedicated products, I had good results using regular Liquid Paper and much better results using Testor's flourescent orange model paint.

Since you can try either for just a few dollars, you might was to consider them.

I bought the complete set of "Bright Sights" paints several years ago, including the "Ghost Glow" versions. All I can say is that they are paint. Sometimes it will adhere, sometimes not, even after thorough pre-cleaning and use of their included cleaning solvent. If the sights have recessed dots, the paint would probably do o.k., but I was trying to apply it to black iron sights on pistols and front sights on revolvers. It just would not stay.

And, as far as the "Ghost Glow"...... well, it didn't.

I would suggest getting a small bottle of appliance touch up paint, or "Testors Model Paint" in your choice of colors. And save some money.

I used the Brightsight paint on a couple of my guns. I like an orange front blade and green rear dots. Works well. However, I have also used regular modelers enamel and it works well too. Just use a sharp toothpick to dab the paint onto the dots or on onto the blade.

My pre-owned Kimber Custom Target II has the orange/green combination that Keith mentions above. I'll get some Testor's model paint and try it on the others.
