Pretty positive article, despite Campus Carry failure

Post by Greybeard »

Even though Campus Carry did not make it to the house floor for a vote, this makes pretty clear where our local House Rep. stands. :patriot:
I would have preferred the use of words other than "children" (and a couple of other's you'll probably recognize), but overall, much better than what's appeared elsewhere. A couple of folks I know might have had something to do with that. ;-)

“When people look past the misinformation on this bill, you see that this is a well thought out piece of legislation that will further enhance public safety and deter against acts of violence on our college campuses. My daughters will be in college one day, and I would not have supported this bill if I thought it was bad policy that would put them or other Texas children in harm's way,” said Representative Parker.

Very good article, overall it is one of the better ones that I have read on this topic. It is refreshing to see that some papers will actually print "both" sides of an issue. Now if we could only have Tam Parker help push this into the Special Session :patriot:
