Click the link below and read Steve Blow's article (and the comments following). Let me know if I am the only offended.

offended???? Heck no! That's the most refreshing dialog I have ever seen between a "big city" journalist and commentors. I see this as being one of two different possible scenerios:

1. "Steve" is a very second (third or fourth) rate journalist without a real following of typical liberal readers

2. "Steve" got a real sound spanking from some very thoughtful respondents.

I'm sure glad I live in small town Texas. But, it looks like the comments so far have been almost exactly what I would expect to come from my little neck of the state.

Well, no, Mike, you aren't the only one offended by Steve Blow's remarks; but then, he fully intended to be offensive, don't you think? At the time I'm writing this, he's gotten quite a few refutations of his statements and reading them has been gratifying.

I think it was a poor, half hearted attempt at the type of sensationalism that "shock jocks" try to use to generate irrational responses from their listeners....in this case readers.

But it appears that the majority of responders were not irrational at all. In fact, very well informed.

He's just someone making claims, with no justification in them.....just to stir things up, and to sell newspapers.

(P.S. the commenter from ILL. really put it on the table and showed what a ridiculous clambering he made.)

My comment:

Steve Blow,

Sir, you are really a Blow! Your family is really proud to have an educate person like yourself who is a free thinker and smart.

But, seriously, do you believe what you typed? I am for sure a novice in Handgun Practical Shooting Sports but I am not naive and easily manipukated, I do invite you to visit your nearest IPDA or IPSC/USPSA club and watch a match or two. Maybe if you have some time, you can interview some of those who you call "most naive, most easily manipulated political groups in the country."

Maybe if you are so smart, so sincere in your characterization of those shooters, and since as you claim they are naive, and easily manipulated, maybe, maybe you can use your charm to persuade them to quit this violent sport and focus on counseling the drug addicts and the victims of the society.

I recommend you stop being a Blow for a sec dwell on what you are authoring.

I felt offended and had to to blow the Blow!

Beiruty.

Steve is a far left liberal and a sissy. I once attended a group with him as a speaker. At break I saw him walking down the hall to make his talk and his hips swung back and forth like a girl. I left as there is nothing to be learned from libs.

When people read or hear something they don't like or disagree with, some resort to name calling. Why is that?
Why not ignore it and the messenger? To do otherwise gives credit to the message.

'I'm a gun owner' -Steve Blow 1st response to negative comments from his blog

This anemic riposte does not impress me.

Quoting other folks smarter and wittier than I, "Hanging out in a garage does not make me a mechanic. Hanging out longer in a garage doesn't make me a car either."
