Virgina

Post by jmorris »

Ok, usacarry.com and postings here indicate that Virgina reciprocates with Texas on CHL, but on the DPS page (http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administra ... rocity.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) Virgina isn't listed. Am I missing something?

jm, I'm finding that true as well on another website:

http://www.handgunlaw.us/LicMaps/ccwmap.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

VA honors TX and vice versa.

Imagine that the DPS website isn't up to date? "rlol"

I'm surprised it didn't say "Processing request" :rolll '

I checked a few carry sites and they all say we do, but the "official" site doesn't say anything. And when I check the Virginia state site the listing for Texas links back to the Texas page. I'm going up to Virgina at the end of August and just want to be sure. The real major problem is that where I'm going is near the West Virgina border and we'll be wandering near and far.

And that, as I read it, one can't carry into a restaurant that has a license to serve.

At least Tennessee, where I'm flying into, is listed.

I lived in Va. for awhile and VA. does honor a TX CHL and Tx honors a Va. But Va. is also a open carry state and if you go out to eat you can not have a concealed handgun if they serve alcohol so you have to open carry it.

What part of Va. you going to ??

Wytheville. In-laws live there. First time I'll be there, my wife usually goes by herself.

Texas is listed on the Virginia State Police website so it looks like you're good in Virginia. http://www.vsp.state.va.us/Firearms_Reciprocity.shtm

That is a problem. West Virginia is one of those Yankee states that doesn't honor a Texas CHL.

TSRA magazine indicates and has indicated for as long as I remember (5 or 6 years maybe) reciprocity between Virginia and Texas.

Seems weird that by now DPS doesn't have something on the site. Oh well, thanks everyone.
