An update and a new request

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

An update and a new request

Post by quidni »

Steve is doing a lot better now than he was a couple weeks ago. He saw the cardiologist for a follow-up this past Thursday, and the doc was very pleased with his progress. His bp is still not completely stabilized but it is noticeably better than it was. The cardiologist has said "as far as his heart is concerned" he can return to work. His speech is almost completely recovered & if you didn't know he'd had a stroke you wouldn't be able to tell now just by looking/talking with him. Once his regular doc is comfortable with his other vitals, she'll give him the release so he can get back to the office.

My Grandmother (Mom's mom) passed away yesterday morning, and we'll be traveling to Phoenix for the services later this week. We've got friends who'll stay at the house & take care of the dog while we're gone. Please pray for my Mom & her sisters, and for my Gram's brothers and sister, as they deal with the preparations and the process of saying "good night" (never 'good-bye' - we'll see her again in the Morning in God's time!).

If she had passed a couple weeks ago, Steve's health would not have allowed him to go, and I would not have felt it safe for him if I went without him. God's timing in all of this has been a blessing. Please pray that Steve's doctor will see no harm in his traveling with me, and that his health will remain stable and continue to improve.

Thank you all so much for the prayers and the comfort you've given up to now. May God bless and continue to bless each and every one of you!

Lord I pray that Steve's doctors will give him permission to travel and I pray for the extra grace to strengthen him and to keep him stabilise. I pray for your angles to take charge over them and take them to their destination and home again. Give them a good trip filled with the love and peace of God. Thank you Father and I ask in the name of Jesus...amen!

Got back from Phoenix yesterday evening.

The services were beautiful; I think Gram would have approved.

Steve's doctor had no problems with him going on the trip; his blood pressure seems to be stable & hovering around 120/70-ish give or take a few points either way. He's hoping the doc will allow him to return to work next week. (For my sanity as well, I hope the doc says yes!)

Our son got some time off as well and made it to the funeral. We had a good visit with my Mom & the rest of the family.

One "incident" happened on the way home, just east of Lordsburg NM...one vehicle out of a mini-convoy ahead of us blew a tire, swerved & kicked up a huge dirt cloud as it slewed off the highway. Thane being who/what he is, he immediately pulled over to offer assistance with us right behind him. The driver of the SUV kept it upright (it was full of kids - church group, I think) and got it back under control almost immediately. No one was hurt. They had enough hands to get the spare switched out quickly, so we stuck around just long enough to make sure they'd be OK & continued on.

Thank you all for your prayers lifting us up and seeing us through this time.
