Class C Misdemeanor
I addressed this in another thread but I am still confused after reading other similar threads. I am pretty positive that the times I was arrested were for Class C Misdemeanors. I wound up only paying fines in two instances, and never saw a judge. The time I did see a judge was 12 years ago. To obtain what I need for class C info do I still go to the county clerk. The one instance I did see a judge was in a jail court, not a regular courthouse.

You need to go to that court and get a disposition on it(certified copy of final Sentence and Judgment). Explain it on your application, and submit it with your application when you mail it to DPS.

Well unfortunatly there is the Harris County Clerk
http://www.cclerk.hctx.net/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And the Harris County District Clerk
http://www.hcdistrictclerk.com/Common/Default.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And neither of these sites only add to my confusion. The latter site has a search that returns no information. I don't want to waste my time going to all these different places and getting the runaround.

Re: Class C Misdemeanor
What agency arrested you? If it was a city police officer, then you were charged in municipal court and neither the Harris County District Clerk or County Clerk will have any record.

It was a city police in each case. This is my problem. I have gathered that the Clerks Office has no information because they were all class c. So I have no idea where to go.

If a city officer arrested you, the charges were filed in municipal court. Call the court clerk for the city and ask for a criminal history check on yourself. If they have it fine; if not, that's fine too. Just get a letter from the court clerk saying "no record." That's all DPS will need.jdice1980 wrote:It was a city police in each case.
