Longview Home Burglary

Post by Piney »

I realize this isnt a CHL related event. I've had a few folks ask me about info on a recent event in Longview. I thought I'd post the initial news story from the Longview News-Journal newspaper.

There have been followup stories most every day since the event.

Initial story

and the story on 6/27 which also has a set of links to related stories

That is so stupid. It sounds like the mother is no better than the kids. O well they got shot in that guy's home he should be ok if he can get away from those stinkin family members and friends of the suspects.

Kids now a days are bolder than ever. They'll break into someone's home to do a home invasion or shoot someone without batting an eye because they know they can get a way with it.

That's really sad. The homeowner needs to file harrassment charges on that person. Those homeowners have been through enough with the burglary.

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.

The kids are lucky the home owner is level headed. I've had neighbors that would have walked across the street and shot them for that.

KinnyLee, can we insert "some" or "a few" in front of kids? Otherwise it implies a blanket condemnation of all kids and I know many, many kids and teens that are caring and learning how to be responsible citizens of the community. There are very many that I would be very proud to call my children.

This appears that the home owner is doing the right thing.

This is probably what will happen in most of these types of aftermath of a home invasion ending in the death of one or more of the perpetrators. The home owner is not the one that called the police about the street heckling.

I would advise anyone heckling someone that is known to defend themselves to cease and decist before they too end up in the same fashion after they step foot on that property.

I know that shooting people that merely tresspass is wrong, but that does not prevent people already scared from a recent brutal attempt on their family from doing the same.

In the news story, the home owner seems to be keeping to his or her self and not calling attention to their situation. Hopefully the police will be there to observe the hecklers, because there may be a few felons present they've been looking for.
I am not the first or the last...

Maybe Chas edited my post, but I don't see anything that was wrong with it.

I try to abide by the 10 yr old daughter rule strictly - if you ever catch me slipping please let me know via PM.
