Got the Proverbial "Deal" on a Pistol

Post by doc540 »

local ad popped up, I called quickly and was first to get there with the money.

1977 Smith Model 19-4, pinned and recessed, 357 magnum w/extra Hogue Monogrip and a vintage S&W thumb break holster

Can I strut and crow a little bit?

AT that price you can crow a lot for that shooter.
A set of Tyler Ts & that would look awsomly historical.

Now you need to take it to Market Hall, call it rare and pristine, and put a $900 price tag on it!

"rlol"

Wish I'd seen it.

Looks like the one I saw on TX Gun Trader... I made over 4 offers... and the seller ignored me. Nice buy!

Just a local ad spot here in the SE Texas area.

I've missed a few myself, but jumped on this one.

Shot it today, too. :thumbs2:

Congrats Doc! More proof that good deals are still possible when someone has the patience to wait for the right time and the ability to jump quickly when the time comes.

Strange....the day the ad appeared I called twice and left messages.

Called two more times that evening but hung up before the "leave message" started.

Late in the afternoon of day two (after no returned call), I thought, "What the heck, it has to be sold by now, but try one more time".

The guy answered and said it was still for sale although two other people had shown interest but hadn't set an appointment to look at it.

I met him 30 minutes later with the cash.
