I am considering this combo for myself and Letty. We are both shooting a XD 40, service model for me and SC for her. Things that concern me are
1. using the laser as a crutch
2. fitment in a holster
3. durablity
4. Changing the grip on the sidearm
Let me hear your thoughts and suggestions.
Thanks
Carl

Re: crimson trace on XD?
I haven't used a laser personally (yet), but some folks that I respect their opinion on such things seem to believe that it helps you acquire a target faster (especially in low-light scenarios), and that it is generally a good thing.
I can't comment on holster fit or durability.
The Crimson Trace grips I've seen are designed so that the laser & switch are integral into the grip of the handgun. Carter's Country has the demo setup with blue guns, and I couldn't tell the different except for the laser dot (and slight bulge to accommodate it).
They are high on my list of accessories for my XD.
