Airing on Spike TV on Tuesdays , Surviving Disaster focuses on different scenarios that can occur and suggestions
on how to deal with them .

the next new episode is
"Shopping Day Disaster" , terrorists intent on making a statement, a shopping mall is a perfect target.

i don't watch every episode , but i did see the "How to Survive a Home Invasion" episode .

I don't watch the show but on the commercials, that guy is really really really really really super duper annoying. Anytime the guy seems to open his mouth he's yelling at you. I kepp wanting to tell him "chill buddy, relax a little. Nam is over. Charlie can't hurt you anymore. This is your safe zone, your happy place."

Anyway, I don't like the dude. :nono:

I watched the flight hijacking and office fire episodes quite sceptically and ended up thinking the show was pretty cool...I didn't watch it to learn how to survive though--more for entertainment :coolgleamA:

Watched them and thought good show. They give you alot of important points that may not have been thought of. Like on the HiJacking they tell what radio channel to use to reach help from the cockpit. Unless your a pilot you wouldnt know that. Allways helps as no one knows everything when it comes to survival.

I watched the one on the office building on fire, and the mall terrorists. Seems like a pretty entertaining show.

The Mall attack reminded me of what I read in Clancey's last Jack Ryan novel..."Teeth of the Tiger"...

Those two combined didn't really make me think anything different if I was cought up in a "soft target" situation...

Some of us have combat experience, I cannot see how that can really help you to cope with a senario like this...Certainly not in an indiscriminant manner...Keeping your head on a swivle and looking for a way out would certainly be the main priority in my opinion...And helping others to do so would be preferable in my opinion...

Other than that, the series is very informative, and entertaining...The Hurricane episode is one my wife really enjoyed since we have had some recent experience with that...She slept through Ike...So she was actually cooler than I was that night...I was a mess!!! ;-) :smilelol5:

But we were prepared, none the less... :thumbs2:

I see that as the key point of the entire series...

last nights episode .."Nuclear Attack"...was a sobering show .

it may sound like it would be out of the realm of possibility to most people , but in this day and age
it really makes you think .

nobody thought 911 would happen .

So... when are we going to start construction on our bunker out in the countryside somewhere? Like Magnolia/Navasota area?
