My brother who lives in SC is not a CHL holder (he is considering getting one, but not yet). He is presently working in Alabama and wants to know if there is a resoucre to determine whether he can carry a firearm in his vehicle without a CHL permit. Anyone know? The states would be Georgia, Alabama, and maybe Mississippi.

He should also look into whether it is legal to carry a shotgun if not a handgun.That is the case in some states.
It looks like Georgia has unlicensed car carry of handguns. Alabama does not.
