New carry weapon!

Post by NTexas_V-Star »

I had an offer made on my S&W M&P 9mm(C) last night at a poker game (many of us close friends are CHL holders, and we talk about it pretty openly, in that one place)

Anyways, had the guy meet me at my work this morning, sold him the 9, then went next door and picked up a Compact XD .45

I dig it so far! Thought I'd share.

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

He made it worth selling my daily CCW, I'll say that much.

I wasn't necessarily wanting to sell it, but I was wanting to consolidate into one caliber....that caliber being .45ACP! Now my home defense and my daily carry are .45; just one caliber to keep up with....and I like the .45 better. :biggrinjester:

I just caught the poker reference.....sorry man, long day, lol. He was asking me about it as I was in the midst of catching a full house, Kings over Jacks, while a noob was fishing for a straight. He wasn't in the hand...but it was epic, raking in a nice stack of chips, then shaking hands on a gun deal directly afterwards.

So one could say you're going for a straight flush... everything same suite (caliber).

(OK, ok, I'll hush...... :biggrinjester: )

Seriously, though, congrats on a deal you're happy with!

And I've gotta ask about your handle... Yamaha? '06 650 V-star Custom, here. Do you also hang out at TWTex.com?

Naw man, I had an 01 V-Star 650 Custom...first bike. NTexas_V-Star is my handle on another forum, DFWStangs.net. I was referred to TexasCHLforum by a member there....so I kept the same name. In April of 2007 I sold my Yamaha and bought a 2007 Harley Davidson Streetbob. Just never felt an inclination to change my screenname.

As far as the "straight flush" ......you could say that. I prefer royal flush though (eventually I'll have a 1911 that I like enough to keep).
